Jasper’s Story: From Hospital Bed to Innovator 🌈💡
Two years ago, I met this kid in the hospital, lost and unsure of his place in the world. Fast forward to today: he’s thriving in college, working as a group facilitator at STTC, and just got named Young Innovator in Behavioral Health Tech. 🚀 He pushed through imposter syndrome, and now he’s changing the game! He didn’t wait to feel "ready"—he stepped into his power, despite the doubts, and now he’s changing lives

🗣Real Talk: Imposter Syndrome is a Liar 🙅‍♂️

Imposter syndrome is the feeling of self-doubt and insecurity that makes people believe they don’t deserve their achievements/success, even when there’s evidence to the contrary. People with imposter syndrome often feel like frauds, fearing they’ll be "found out" as not being as capable or qualified as others perceive them to be, despite having the skills and accomplishments to prove otherwise. It’s common among high achievers, particularly those from marginalized or underrepresented backgrounds.

Imposter syndrome affects so many of us, especially those who come from underrepresented or underestimated backgrounds. Sometimes society—and even systems—treat us like we don’t belong, making us feel like we have to prove our worth. But the truth is, we have to be extra confident and sure of ourselves to know that we deserve to be here, just as much as anyone else.

Imposter syndrome is a byproduct of impossible standards society puts on us, and sometimes we put it on ourselves. The world often tells us we need to be "more" before we can show up, but you are already enough. Maybe you weren’t meant to shrink or silence yourself to make others comfortable. Maybe you’re meant to stand out to make a change.

💥 Breaking Through Imposter Syndrome 💥

Feeling like an imposter is part of the journey, but it doesn’t have to hold you back. Here are a few tips that have helped me (and Jasper) push through:

⭐Keep a "Wins" Folder: Document your successes—big and small. A thank-you email, a good grade, or a meaningful project—remind yourself of what you’ve already achieved. 📝

⭐Dress for Yourself: Confidence comes from feeling like your authentic self. Don’t wear the costume of who you think you should be—dress like someone who knows they deserve to be here. Dress in a way that makes you feel good and comfortable. 👚👗🧦

⭐Give Yourself Time to Grow: You don’t need to have it all figured out. Embrace the journey, including the mistakes. Growth takes time, and you don’t have to be perfect. 🌱

We all deserve to feel like we belong. Let’s stop second-guessing ourselves and show up boldly, because the world needs what only YOU can offer!
